Charles Henry Fratcher

Charles Henry Fratcher Jr. passed away on May 17, 2025, in American Fork, Utah. He was born on October 3, 1941, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Charles Henry Fratcher Sr. and Marian Isabelle Steele. He married Sharon Lynne McCaughey on September 23, 1964, and they were married just shy of 60 years.

He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and went to Pembroke Hill Private School for K-12th grade. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Princeton University in 1965 and a Master's Degree in Business Administration at the University of Kansas in 1967. He worked in IT most of his career. He worked all over the US with many different companies and finished up with a 30+ year employment with Nature's Sunshine in Spanish Fork.

He loved taking his sons on the father-son campouts. He loved to travel. He loved watching Jeopardy. His favorite food of all time was ice cream. So much so that it was truly the last thing he ate. His wonderful and diligent son Joseph was the one that fed it to him. Thank you, Joe, for taking care of him.

He was a history fanatic. He read books on every and all wars. He loved politics and was very active for many years in the Republican Party Conventions.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many different callings. His favorite was as a High Priest Group Instructor.

He loved sports. When he was young, he played football and golf. He did a lot of boating with his dad. He especially loved to watch football, basketball, and golf, but truly would watch any and all sports. He held season tickets to the BYU football games for years and took many of his children and grandchildren to the games.

Charles is survived by six children: Laura Cassidy, Robert (Brenda) Fratcher, Ellen (Rob) Griffee, Joseph Fratcher, Nathan (Jessica) Fratcher,

Aaron Fratcher, 13 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon, his son David, and two grandchildren, Steven Barrett and Bryan Fratcher.

Celebration of Life Services will be held on July 5th at 3:00 pm at 546 N. 500 W., Orem, UT.
