Our sweet angel, Charlene Chipman, left this earthly existence on Thursday, November 14, 2025, at the age of 57.
Born September 2, 1968, in Provo, Utah, to Ardath K. Chipman and Diane Wilson Chipman, Charlene grew up in Springville and attended Oakridge School in Provo, graduating in 1990. She loved every minute of school and threw herself into extracurricular activities with her trademark enthusiasm. As a proud member of the Girl Scouts, she worked hard to earn many badges. Each spring she eagerly looked forward to the Special Olympics, wearing the medals she won with beaming pride.
Charlene belonged to a 4-H club at a farm in Mapleton, where she learned to care for animals and fell especially in love with a gentle horse who shared her affection for pancakes. One of her happiest nights each year was the annual Oakridge Prom, where she usually attended with her dear friend Randy and danced the night away.
Holidays and birthdays were magical to Charlene—she never forgot a cousin’s birthday, and the next holiday celebration simply couldn’t come soon enough.
After graduation, Charlene was employed for 33 joyful years at Central Utah Enterprises in the assembly department. She looked forward to work every day, cherishing the friends she made and the caring staff who became like family.
Charlene is survived by her loving mother, Diane Chipman; nephew Michael Hillock; aunts Vicky Hohrein and Glenna Wilson; and many devoted cousins, especially Alana Darr, along with a large extended family who adored her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ardath K. Chipman; sister Christine Hillock; and grandparents Jesse and Ruby Wilson and Wendell and Bliss Chipman.
Charlene brought light and love wherever she went. Her smile, her excitement for life’s simple joys, and her kind heart will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem, with a viewing held that morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Wheeler-Sundberg Funeral Home, 495 South State Street, Orem, prior to the graveside services.
