Bonnie Jean Lewis Sorensen

Bonnie Jean Lewis Sorensen, a loving wife, mother, and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, passed away on March 7, 2024, in Orem, Utah. Born on January 5, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Frank Lewis and Marie Sumbot. Bonnie led a life filled with love and compassion for her family and community.

Bonnie's journey was marked by her dedication to her loved ones. She worked as a beautician until she met the love of her life, Ted Sorensen, to whom she was sealed to for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they built a beautiful family and shared precious moments until their health declined. 

Education was important to Bonnie, as she graduated from Granite High.

In her free time, Bonnie found solace in gardening. Her green thumb and the beauty she brought to her yard was a testament to her nurturing soul. Reading scriptures outdoors and exploring nature with Ted brought her immense joy. Her adventurous spirit and love for travel created cherished memories with her beloved husband.

Bonnie will always be remembered for her quick wit and infectious happiness. She was known for her generosity and willingness to help others in need. Her proudest accomplishment was centered around the love she had for her family; they held a special place in her heart.

She is preceded in death by Frank Lewis and Marie Sumbot, her husband Ted Sorensen, her son Scott Sorensen, and her brother Paul Lewis.

She is survived by her sister Pamela Morriss along with many nieces and nephews who will continue to cherish the memories created with Bonnie.

Bonnie Jean Lewis Sorensen's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her. May she rest in peace knowing that she touched so many lives with her warmth and compassion.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Wheeler-Sundberg Funeral Home, 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
