In loving memory of Barbara Jean Bradley Edge

Barbara Jean Edge, 83, of Lindon, Utah, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024.  She was born Oct 1, 1940, in Ely, Nevada, to Delile Simpson Bradley and Lois May Cheel.  She married Andy Watis Edge (surviving, divorced) in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Jan 19, 1962.  She later married Merle T. Belcher of Los Angeles, CA, and divorced.

Barbara was the last surviving sibling of eleven. She is survived by her two children, Angela Howel of Calabash, North Carolina, and Samuel Edge (Nancy Wenzel) of Lindon, Utah; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was a farm girl who grew up in rural Preston, Nevada, and Las Vegas, Nevada, where she lovingly helped her parents care for their large family. She graduated from Las Vegas High School. She joined her mother, Lois, as a switchboard operator at the Las Vegas Telephone Company. Later, seeking to further her education and career, she attended Los Angeles City Business College to earn her Accounting degree. Over the years, she worked for many large and small businesses doing accounting until her retirement in 2005.

For the latter part of her life, almost 30 years and until her passing, she lived with her son Samuel, his wife Nancy, and their children, daughter Melissa and son Brandon. Barbara was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend and was loved by everyone who knew her.  Never with idle hands, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, crocheting, working on the computer, and operating a successful photo restoration business.

She loved Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith was steadfast and immovable. She was always upbeat, willing to help, and ready for a challenge.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 21, 2024, at 11 a.m. in the Lindon 10th Ward LDS Chapel at 1051 E 200 S, Lindon, Utah. A viewing for friends and family will be held prior to her service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association.
