Anna Fa’aumu Cropper, 85, of Orem, Utah, passed away, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from the effects of cancer. She was born on July 30, 1939, in Neiafu, Vava’u, Tonga. She married Earl Blake Cropper on July 30, 1966, in the Laie, Hawaii, Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Anna graduated from Liahona High School in Tonga and earned a scholarship to Church College of Hawaii (Brigham Young University-Hawaii). There, she earned a bachelor’s degree in child development. She later earned a teaching certificate, a Bachelor of Nursing degree, and a Master of Public Administration (BYU).
She worked for many years at Utah Valley and Timpanogos hospitals and was loved and appreciated by the patients she cared for and their families. Among her many charitable efforts, Anna was especially proud of her work with the Utah Heart Association. Anna and Earl have been passionate ambassadors of the BYUH Matthew Cowley Society, which supports educational opportunities for BYUH students.
Anna was a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ and served in many callings in The Church. She served with Earl in the California San Fernando Mission as a mission nurse and for over a decade as a service missionary in the missionary medical department at church headquarters.
Her greatest talent was her quiet and constant ministering to those around her. Her dearest friends included the young, the old, and the in between. Anna was the angel who showed up when others needed a friend. She was known to deliver her jams, cookies, breads, fudge, and handmade blankets to people everywhere she went. She created an inviting home and beautiful garden that everyone loved to visit.
Anna loved to garden, spending many happy days working in her yard. She was an avid golfer and loved playing in the women’s league she helped establish at Sleepy Ridge Golf Course. She had a passion for travel and adventured near and far.
She was a beloved sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Anna is survived by her husband Earl, three daughters, Kalani, Trudy, and Christy, granddaughter Alexis, and siblings Siosiua Fa’aumu and Luseane Philip. She was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings.
