Alexandra Turner

May 14, 1942 — August 4, 2018

Alexandra May Turner, age 76, returned to our Heavenly Father at 12:55am, surrounded by her family, on August 4th at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was born in Birmingham, England on May 14, 1942 to Alexander Ward and Ella May Harris. She married John Henry Turner in 1968.

Alexandra attended school in Birmingham and worked hard throughout her years in a variety of positions. She was an amazing cook and loved crafty things as well as decorating. In later years, she served in management taking care of the elderly for Holiday Retirement and was known as 'Nana Sandra' to all of the children of her family preschool The Magic Door.

As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Alexandra held various callings including Relief Society President, teacher in Relief Society and Primary, Visiting Teaching Supervisor and Visiting Teacher. She loved to serve those around her and made sure there was a freshly baked loaf of bread and a jar of jam for every sister who had a baby.

In the last months of her life, Alexandra suffered from cancer and other illnesses. Everyone around her knows her as a 'ray of sunshine' always smiling and laughing no matter what she was experiencing. She will always be a fabulous wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Alexandra has one sister, Patricia.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Ella Ward, and her husband, John Turner. She is survived by her three children, Deborah (Paul), Kevin (Nicole) and Wade - estranged (Julie). She has eight beautiful grandchildren who are the light of her life - Bailey, Alexander, Luke, Violet, Brennen, Teancum John, Michaela and Jared.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 25th at 11:30am at the Aspen 6th Ward chapel - 1546 N 1100 W, Orem. Condolences may be offered online at http://www.SundbergOlpinMortuary.com
