Richard "Dick" Danton Grover, 82, of Orem, Utah, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, with his wife Mandy by his side. He was born February 1, 1936, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Danton Grover and Kathleen Braddock. He married Amanda Rose Lamp on March 12, 1977, and they were sealed in the Provo Temple.

Dick grew up in Grand Junction, Colorado, and raced on the high school ski team. He enjoyed acting, music, art, and literature. He attended Colorado State College and earned his degree in English and education. Dick was an English and debate teacher, and later worked in vocational rehabilitation and supported employment for the developmentally disabled at the Utah State Developmental Center (American Fork Training School).

Dick was a lifelong skier and taught skiing professionally for over 50 years and skied into his 80’s. He was an avid guitar player and loved to play and sing for audiences both large and small. Dick was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served joyfully in many callings. He completed a service mission with his wife Mandy teaching English as a second language in the Utah Orem Mission. He and Mandy also served as temple workers at the Timpanogos Temple for 12 years. He loved sharing the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others, especially with his family. He was a loving father and grandfather and treasured the time he spent playing with his children and grandchildren.

Dick is survived by his wife Amanda Rose Lamp Grover; his children: Sean (Stephanie) Grover, Eric (Michelle) Grover, Lorena (Jesse) Ramos Larsen, Cheryl (Brian) Morse, Aloma Grover; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Sister Winifred “Winkie” Railsback and three of his children: Mark Grover, Michael Grover and Anna Ramos.
