JAMES WHITNEY PIPKIN James Whitney Pipkin, 76, left this earthly life April 30, 2012 after fighting a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. James was born May 5, 1935 in Kirtland, New Mexico to Horace Earl Pipkin and Alta Whitney. He was the fifth child of eight. He graduated from Farmington High School in Farmington, New Mexico. Before attending BYU, he served his first LDS mission in the Northern States. While attending BYU he met and married his eternal companion Donna Vee Holdaway on March 18, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple. James is survived by his wife Donna, his four daughters Kaye (Patrick) Milligan, Farmington, UT; Lynae (Reed) Flygare, Salem, UT; Jill (Ron) Nielsen, Lindon, UT; Cindy (Art) Lopez, Orem, UT and 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. His lifetime occupation was masonry work. His father taught him the trade. Later in life he served a second LDS mission with his wife to Nauvoo, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and twin grandchildren Ronald Olie and Shila. Funeral services will be held Monday May 7, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem, UT. A visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6 to 8 pm and also Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to the services. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
