Melba Stewart

MELBA JOIE MARROTT STEWART Melba passed away peacefully on, Sunday, April 8, 2012. She was born Feb 16, 1922 to Joseph Ascil and Martha Marrott. She was raised on the family farm in Orem and attended school in Lindon and graduated from Pleasant Grove High. Melba married Lester (Joe) Stewart on Aug 13, 1938 in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on Dec 6, 1956. Lester passed away Aug 22, 2006. They are the parents of Joan (Ernie)Tsalaky, Ronald (Mary), Nyle (Kaye). Melba loved to bowl and coach softball. She loved to travel, read, and sewing. She was an active member of the LDS Church serving in many callings. Her posterity includes 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren. She also has two sisters Vera Hundley and Ronda (Lowell) Tomlinson. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters Verna and JoAnn, 3 brothers Tom, Weldon & Joe, and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State St. in Orem. Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and also Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Eastlawn Memorial Hills Cemetery.
